ONE YEAR in the new space/The ChuckTown
Thursday, June 25th will mark exactly one year to the day that we began operating in our new space, one door down from our original location. It is with many thanks and much humility that we thank our amazing employees, the people of our neighborhood, and our city, for helping us to make that move, to become what we are today. We emphatically believe in giving back to our community, and do so regularly, without much fanfare. We give back not for notoriety, but to help sustain the community in which we are part of.
Many of our friends know, but not some of our newer friends, that myself & my family (owners of The Red Hot), moved to WA in 1992 from Charleston, SC. Three of four of us were born & raised there. That’s where we learned to cook, so many of the items we use (TRH Gold BBQ sauce, our cole slaw, etc) are based on the local cuisine of the Lowcountry area. Most are aware of the tragedies that took place there last week. We are posting this a day early to let those know who would like to help out, but are not sure how to, that 100% of the money generated from this Thursday’s Test Kitchen Special will be donated to The Mother Emanuel Church Hope Fund, to help that community, as well.
This Thursday’s Test Kitchen is based on that area. Here’s The ChuckTown:
Pork Hot Link, with TRH Gold BBQ Sauce, homemade pimento cheese, cole slaw
These specials will be $6. No adds/subs/togo. If you would like to just donate to this fund, you can go to any Wells Fargo branch and donate to the “Mother Emanuel Hope Fund”.
Thanks again for making us a part of the community. We hope to be part of it for many more years. Please lookout for our 8-year anniversary on August 16th of this year! Thank you!
